1) | What makes PEC’s mission
meaningful to you, and what interest you about serving on the PEC Board
of Directors? The PEC’s mission of providing low-cost, reliable, and safe power to its customers is very important and should be the top priority of the Board of Directors. I believe I can help meet that goal with my experience and working knowledge of the customers in District 7. |
2) | What education, skills, strengths or life experiences do you have that would benefit PEC? I believe my experience as a former County Commissioner and former School Board member will serve me well working with all the cities and counties in the district. I represented this area in some way for 18 years. I have been involved in the district my entire adult life and also grew up in the district. Besides representing the area, I have many hours of volunteering and being an active member of the community. I am extremely transparent and accessible and will always listen to the people I represent. |
3) | What other boards or committees have you served on or leadership positions have you held in the past? Vice President Hays CISD School Board for 2-terms, Hays County Commissioner Pct. 2 for 3 terms, Vice President Capital Area Finance Corp., Vice President Hays County Food Bank for 12 years, and Board of Directors Forever 15. |
4) | Are you familiar with the elements of the cooperative business model? Yes, I am. I believe the Coop is a great model to run a utility. The members having a voice is extremely important and as a Board member need to always be listening to the members they represent. |
5) | How would you approach working with your fellow PEC Board of Directors to achieve collaboration and consensus? I would use the skills I have learned from all the other boards I have served on. I would be willing to compromise and always make decisions in the best interests of the members. |
